Saleen Inc. Ceases Operations and Dissolves Owner Warranties

Just a little over two short years ago Steve Saleen was head of a thriving aftermarket performance company he founded some 25 years ago but after he retired in May of 2007 things started on a downward spiral. The latest news from Saleen Inc. is they have ceased operations and dissolved owner warranties due to the economic climate. This news was sent in a letter to certified Saleen and Racecraft dealers from MJ Acquisitions who purchased certain assets of Saleen Inc.

MJ Acquisitions who purchased Saleen's supercharger, aftermarket and high performance street vehicle businesses including the newly formed Racecraft brand of Saleen Inc. on January 30th say they cannot be held liable for any warranties existing prior to February 2, 2009. MJ also says the burden of those warranties prior to February 2nd on any of the parts, services, and vehicles including cars, trucks and aftermarket parts are the responsibility of Saleen Inc. which has ceased operations thus leaving many owners up creek without a paddle.

The only good news out of this situation is MJ Acquisitions will continue to provide service parts, performance parts, accessories and letters of authentication to Saleen and Racecraft owners along with dealers for years to come. They will also provide a 12 month/12,000 mile limited warranty against manufacturer defects on parts sold on or after February 2nd of this year. Owners will still have the balance of their Ford warranty to replace or repair any components that may fail, so all is not lost.
